Alicia's Layout Sketch Challenge - September

I created this layout using my daughter, Alicia's Layout Sketch Challenge for September.  I have two of the funny photographs of her youngest son Noah using his very active mind to play with some everyday things.

It is worth having a go at the Alicia's Sketch Challenge each month as there are some great (and very popular) Ribbon Packs donated by Scrapbook Fantasies as prizes.

The Color Room Palette #129

I thought I had better share my layout for the Color Room Palette #129, especially since it has been chosen to be a Featured layout for the week.  I am so pleased with this and thankful for everyone for their lovely comments over at the Color Room.  I have used photographs from my Grandchildrens last visit to Australia Zoo.  I have dyed the flowers with green mist, and am pleased with how they have each taken to the mist differently.

Bird is the Word - Story

This is the first time I have participated in the challenge that is Bird is the Word.  The requirement of the challenge is to create a layout using the word Story (or Stories) for your journaling and/or title.  It was a good opportunity for me to document a photo shoot of my grandchildren as the Christmas Story.

Sketchbook365 - October Sketch

I really enjoy the sketch challenges at Sketchbook365, and not just because their magazine (Scrap365) is one of my favourites.  I have explored some of the Dufex layered cardmaking products available at Scrapbook Fantasies with this layout.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

I have created this layout using the sketch for the second challenge for the month over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.  Anne runs such a fabulous challenge site, and I am hooked.

And this is the sketch:

Prima Product Pick - September

As I said yesterday you all know I just love Prima, and like to do their challenges every month.  And now I can say that I am so very excited that my daughter (Alicia) created a card with the Prima Product Pick for August which has been featured on the Prima Blog along with many many other inspirational projects created with the same challenge.  As I also said yesterday this challenge to everyone too as the colour schemes are not always what you might select and really get the creative juices flowing.  So onto my layout for the Prima Product Pick for September, and this time it is of two of my Grandsons and their love of cooking and eating.

Prima Build-a-Page (September)

As you all know I just love Prima, and like to do their challenges every month.  And I am so excited that my layout from the Prima Build-a-Page in August has been featured along with so many other talented ladies on the Prima Blog.  I would recommend this challenge to everyone as the sketches are great to use, and the products are superb.  So onto my layout for the Prima Build-a-Page Sketch for September, and once again it is about my beautiful Grand-daughter.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

The first challenge this month over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is to create a layout about a teacher or someone who inspires you.  I chose to document my admiration for my creative daughter (Alicia) and how she has taught me not only to scrapbook, but to believe in myself and my creative talents.

White with 1 - September Challenge

The challenge this month at White with 1 is to use White + Orange + Black.  I have created a layout about my son, Lane, and his 30th Birthday Party.  I used my new favourite wet stuff - Reeves Course Gel Medium on the background and them misted over it randomly and with a peacock feathers mask.  This layout is quite simple and has a lot of white space for me and my style.

Sketchbook 365 - September

I created this layout using the September Sketch over at the Sketchbook365 Blog.  I enjoyed using multiple photographs and bright happy colours.

CSI File #36 - OUAS September Week 1

This CSI (Color Stories Inspiration) file makes great use of my favourite earthy colours, however I found it a bit of a challenge to combine the file clues with one of my other favourite challenges - from Once Upon A Sketch.

My layout is about my youngest Grandson and I written my journaling as a note/letter to him about my wish for him to grow and reach his full potential. I have also expressed to him how he is a gift to us, an answer to our prayers.

The evidence I have used is a mesh mask, leaves, misting (of course don't I always) and fibers.

The testimony I have used is to write my journaling to Noah as if speaking to him in a letter.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #38/2012

The challenge this week at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog is to create a layout using Doodling.  I created some vines and a couple of borders with black pen doodling.

The Color Room Palette #127

I used this weeks palette/sketch from the Color Room to create a layout using some photographs from Monal.  Monal Gold Fields weren't far from where I grew-up and my Grandmother used to tell me stories about her life there as a Fossicker and Jillaroo.

I created the mask by attacking a piece of chevron patterned paper with a craft knife, as I didn't have a ready made one in my stash (and that is saying something considering the size of my stash).

I wanted to also thank Kraft It Up for selecting my July layout (here) as a winner, and 2Crafty for the generous winners prize they sent me too.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone for their lovely comments and encouragement.

Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Challenge #33/2012

I created this layout using the prompt from Weekly Challenge #33/2012 at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog.  The car in the layout was the first car that I actually purchased myself, because my husband was away in for work in Western Australia (for three months) and our other car died a sudden and total death.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #37/2012

I created this layout using the prompt for this weeks Weekly Challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog.  The challenge was to create a layout about Fun & Games, so I used a photograph of Neville, Robin and Noah playing Wii on Christmas Day.

Scrap the Boys - September

My daughter, Alicia, found this great challenge for me on Scrap the Boys, which gave me a chance to get out my tube of Course Gel Medium again.  I mixed it with some brown mist (yes mist), then misted over it with more mist before it dried.  I used photographs of my son in-law, Quentin, and my youngest Grandson, Noah, outside my daughters shop, Scrapbook Fantasies.

I can say that I will definately be doing the Scrap the Boys challenge again, as I love creating grungy masculine pages of the boys in my life.

CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) File #35

I created this layout using CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) File #35 about my late husband and a memorable moment from our honeymoon. John was so amazed that you could find fresh water on the beach, and you could drink it.  As a man from the land who had rarely been to the beach this was an very different experience for him.

I had fun using course gel medium to embed the beads, buttons and starfish on my layout.

The evidence I used is - sun (a flower), beads, paint, starfish, tilted photo and a flower (as the sun)

The testimony I used is to document about our Honeymoon in the Summer of 1971.

Kraft It Up - September

This months Kraft It Up Challenge is to use green, white and black in combination with a Kraft background and accessories.  I love using Kraft at the best of times, and this months challenge was no exception.

I have used pictures from a visit to the historic Monal Cemetery and journaled about the pioneers of this district as told to me by my own Grandmother.  The site of the Monal Goldfields weren't far from where I grew-up and were proclaimed on 2 October 1891.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #36/2012

I created this layout for the challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog this week, which was to create about a Grandparent.  I chose to document myself as a Grandmother and my wish for the time to watch my Grandchildren grow.

My journaling reads:
"Time is the only enemy of a Grandmother.  I have been blessed with five grandchildren, to watch them grow and achieve their potential is my only prayer - I thank God every day for the wonderful gifts he gave me and aske only for time to see them grow and spread their wings."
