Prima Product Pick - October

I thought I had better share my interpretation of the October Prima Product Pick.  I have used a photograph of my only Granddaughter about her independence in making her own snacks.

This is the Product Pick I used:

The Color Room #135

I created this layout using the Color Room Palette #135.  I am still enjoying the Color Room challenges, even though I don't have Facebook so am not intending on loading my layouts to their page.  The photographs are from one of the many changes my daughter made to the layout of her store (Scrapbook Fantasies) in it's previous premises over the nine years and seven months it was there.

White with 1 - November Challenge

This month the White with 1 Challenge is to use White, Green and Chevrons.  There seems to be a lot of people using Chevrons at the moment, and I have found that they work especially well with most themes.  I went with a nature photograph for this challenge, from my trip to Byron Bay a few years ago.

Just as a side note my daughters store (Scrapbook Fantasies) is one of the sponsors at White with 1 this month too.

Scrap the Boys - November

This months challenge at Scrap the Boys is a colour set of really great boy colours.  I had fun creating this layout using the colours provided and also a playing card that I had scanned and printed myself quite some time ago.

And this is these are the colours:

The Color Room #136

This is my interpretation of the Color Room Palette #136.  I enjoyed creating with this simple and elegant palette and sketch, with a photograph of my oldest Grandson Abseiling.

Alicia's Sketch Challenge - November

I am the special guest designer for my daughter, Alicia's Sketch Challenge.  As her guest I created a layout and she then created her Sketch Challenge from it.  I have used some photographs of my youngest grandson, Noah and how he is growing up.

Using the sketch you can create either a card or a layout for a chance to win one of four ribbon packs and two vouchers.  You can view all the details at Alicia's Blog.

And this is the sketch based on my layout:

CSI Catch-up

Due to my daughters shop moving and life being very busy I haven't had a chance to put some of my recent CSI layouts on here.  So here they are in no particular order.

Kraft It Up - November

The challenge this month at Kraft It Up is to create with a minimalist style.  I have to say that this was a big challenge for me, and my busy style.

Once Upon A Sketch - November 2012

I created this layout using this months sketch at Once Upon A Sketch, and my own choice of theme (as it is Anything Goes month).

This is the sketch:

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge #1 - November 2012

I am very honoured to have been chosen (randomly) as a Guest Designer this month at the Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge Blog.  The first challenge for the month is to create a layout about your first job, and mine was at the Gladstone Meatworks in 1956 when I was 16.  The photograph on my layout is from a much earlier time, as I don't have any photographs of myself at the Meatworks.

I can highly recommend the challenges at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, and Anne and her team need to be given a round of applause for a job well done.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - October #2

The second challenge for October at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is a sketch.  Once again Anne has outdone herself with a wonderful sketch to follow.

I have used a photograph taken last Monday, at the first class on the first day of my daughters store (Scrapbook Fantasies) being in its new home.  The new shop is a lot larger and has a wonderful feel to it.  I can't explain it, it is just a wonderful feeling of creativity and light and happy positivity.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #44/2012

This weeks challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog is to creat a layout using Black, Purple, Orange and White only.  My layout is about my beautiful Grandaughter, Naomi-Jon.

The Color Room Palette #130

I was a little worried when I saw the Whitewashed prompt, spots and colours in the Color Room Palette #130, but my layout came together very well in the end.  I even used some modern day slang - LOL (Laugh Out Loud).  The Whitewashed prompt means that you can only use the colours indicated, without the addition of black, cream, brown or kraft - white was actually part of the palette.

I have created this layout using the Color Room Palette #131, which included the perfect colours for a layout about Milton and his Scouting journey.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - Oct #1

The first challenge for October at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is to create a layout about a School Reunion.  My layout includes a photograph from the 50th Reunion Lunch for 9-10D Gladstone State High (1955-1956).  The reunion was in 2006 which really shows my age.  The other ladies in the photgraph are my friends from School and the rest of my Life, and one of them is my dearly departed Cousin Bev.

I have to say a huge to Anne and the team at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for selecting me as their November Guest Designer.  I am a little nervous about it, but very honoured.

Once Upon A Sketch - October

I have created this layout about my Son using the October Sketch at Once Upon A Sketch.  The sketch this month is accompanied by a quote, that I thought was perfect for what I wanted to say with my layout.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #42/2012

This weeks challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog is to create a layout using flowers.  Now this wasn't hard for me, and my love for flowers.  My layout is about my beautiful Granddaughter and how she is the Sunshine of My Life.

Bird is the Word - Touch

I created this layout using the "Touch" prompt at Bird is the Word.  I used a photograph of Milton that was taken when he was only a couple of days old and still in Hospital after his birth.

Scrap the Boys - October

I have created this layout using the October challenge prompt at Scrap the Boys, which is to document your child (my grandchild) and their favourite book/s.

Friday 12 October 2012

Kraft It Up - October

I have created this layout using the October Challenge at Kraft It Up, which is to use Kraft and Misting.  Of course this challenge is just my thing, and as usually I had a ball misting, inking, distressing and generally creating a mess whilst working on this layout about my youngest Grandson.

Liquitex Acrylic Inks

My daughter, Alicia, created the background I have used in this layout at the last Scrapbook Fantasies Super Saturday Crop (in September).  She used Liquitex Acrylic Inks and water, and I have to admit that I was captivated.  These inks are permanent once dry, and so can be layered without making mud or bleeding into each other (as long as you dry between layers and colours).

The next Super Saturday Crop at Scrapbook Fantasies is actually next weekend (20 October), and is also a Girls Night In Fundraiser.  As an added bonus this event will be held at the new home of Scrapbook Fantasies - Shop 1/111 Toolooa Street, Gladstone.  All of the details are here.

White with 1 - October

I have created this layout using the October Challenge at White with 1, which is to use white, yellow and stars.  I may not have used enough white to meet the rules, however I really enjoyed creating with the yellow.

My Bonsai Plants

I created this layout using a kit from one of Candy's recent cardmaking classes at Scrapbook Fantasies.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #41/2012

This weeks challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog is to create a layout using Purple and White only.  My layout is about my purple hair!

CSI #39 & OUAS September #4

This month CSI and Once Upon A Sketch have teamed-up for four weeks of challenges, and this is the last week.  I have used the sketch and file combination to create a layout about my daughter, Alicia.

The evidence I have used is leaves, birds and book paper.

The testimony I have used is to write part of my journaling on my photograph, I had too much to include it all there.

The Color Room Palette #128

I created this layout using the Color Room Palette #128, a couple of weeks ago.  The subject of my layout is my oldest Grandson, Milton.

Scrapbook Fantasies - Weekly Challenge #40/2012

This weeks challenge at the Scrapbook Fantasies Blog is to create a layout using the theme "Lost & Found".  My layout for the challenge is about Noah playing in the long list of dockets printed after a Scrapbook Fantasies Retreat.

Sunday 30 September 2012

Alicia's Layout Sketch Challenge - September

I created this layout using my daughter, Alicia's Layout Sketch Challenge for September.  I have two of the funny photographs of her youngest son Noah using his very active mind to play with some everyday things.

It is worth having a go at the Alicia's Sketch Challenge each month as there are some great (and very popular) Ribbon Packs donated by Scrapbook Fantasies as prizes.
